JAMESON x THE NATIONAL

revamping the beer garden in central Belfast bar The National

The National is a popular and busy bar in the Cathedral Quarter of Belfast, Jameson Whiskey approached me to help with revamping their recently expanded outdoor area. The idea was to the design uncomplicated, with maximum brand exposure but also in a way that complimented the theme of the space.
The final design was a simple and uncompromising merger between Jameson and the National’s running foliage theme.
I hand drew leaves in both an outline style and a more graphic silhouette, which I then digitised to create the printed panels for the corridor as you enter the space. For the adjoining beer garden I replicated the gradient style of the graphic leaves with spray paint onto the corrugated surface of the wall before finished with a hand painted white foilage overlay to mimic that on the printed panels.
The result was an overall more welcoming, outdoorsy space.
