RATWORKS ENGINEERING

An illustration created for film engineering company ratworks.  

Ratworks is the independently owned passion project of 2nd AC Ed Ratcliffe. Ratworks makes precision machined camera accessories made in house in the UK.
Ed came to me with a very specific brief - he wanted to take inspiration from Ed Roth’s classic ‘Rat Fink’ illustration. Ed "Big Daddy" Roth was an American artist, cartoonist, illustrator, pinstriper and custom car designer and builder who created the hot rod icon Rat Fink and other characters. Rat Fink in one of his illustrations was sat astride a custom race car, tongue out, at full speed.
I recreated my own interpretation of Rat Fink, his flailing tongue a reel of film, sat upon an engine made specifically and solely from parts that Ed manufactures at Ratworks Engineering.
