The board is displayed in a store in the tourist hot-spot and surfer’s paradise Canggu, Bali. Given free reign with the concept I wanted to paint something that reflected the personality of the town - Canggu is the Hackney of tourist Bali, with a thriving pop-culture, tattoo and social media scene. With this in mind, the end result was a pin-up style mermaid, sitting atop a skull and surrounded by waves.
